Oh my, what a crazy couple of weeks it has been. Between juggling two jobs, enduring a very bad cold, trying to keep up with my daily routine health wise and a possible appendicitis scare with the bf, I’m pretty ready for this Thanksgiving vacay! I've also been dying to share the details of my recent trip up to California wine country, so enjoy!
Every year, the women on my mom's side of the family go somewhere on a girl's trip, eat a lot of food, drink a lot of wine, and shop! This year, we rented a house up in Lodi, which is a sized town of 60,000 people about 40 miles south of Sacramento. (We were technically staying in Lockeford, a small rural town just outside of Lodi). We ended up renting a giant house with a river in the backyard, vineyard covering most of the land, and a tree swing!
No one in the group had ever been to Lodi before, so it was all a new adventure. Here are the highlights:
1) Downtown Lodi
The highlight of this day was definitely my outfit. I recently HAD to have this fringe jacket from Vici, and I was not disappointed. It was also a huge hit with the ladies of the group! And these Marc Fisher boots are now my prized possession (and most expensive clothing purchase to date) since buying them at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale this year.
If you end up in downtown Lodi, eat at Lodi Beer. They have amazing tacos complete with a ton of guac, and I had a San Joaquin Sour beer, which was amazing if that's up your alley!

2) Wine Tasting at Bokisch Winery
From the road, this winery looks like just a metal shed, but walk around to the entrance in the back and you'll see a beautiful view of rolling hills of vineyards, an outdoor tasting bar, and even a set up game of cornhole! They had an AMAZING white wine, which I’m not normally a fan of.
3) Michael David Winery
Out of all the recommendations for things to do in Lodi that we received as a group, Michael David's name came up the most. Once going there, it was clear why. The winery has an enormous and beautiful outdoors area that looks like it could be a wedding venue (and maybe it is!) There was a pond and fountain, children's play area, chicken coop, outdoor cafe, flower garden, and plenty of seating for your entire group. It really was the most beautiful place that I could imagine taking the family to on a weekend!
I'm obsessed with this Vici kimono dress (that’s in their sale section for 40% off!) and use the bali bag I got (here's the secret- grab an authentic one on Amazon for a fraction of the price of the ones at Madewell and Anthro!)

Hope you are all hanging in there during our ascent to the holiday season! I'm super excited for Thanksgiving this week, because it's one of my favorite holidays (who am I kidding, I love all holidays) and because I’m heading off to one of my favorite places on earth: San Luis Obispo. What are everyone else’s plans??
