The BEST Green Juice you can make at home! 🙌🏼

Writer's picture: TannaTanna

You know this California girl loves her green juice!! After drinking it, I just feel like the most energized, best healthy version of myself. I got my first juicer for Christmas last year, and I absolutely love it. If you don't have a juicer, put that on your wish list this season! The one I have is the Hamilton Beach, which is inexpensive, but works for my needs.

It's sold at many popular stores but I found it cheapest at Walmart here!

Anyways! If you don't want to believe me that this green juice tastes amazing, you don't have to take my word for it. I copied the ingredients from Nekter Juice Bar's most popular drink, 'The Greenie.' Ya girl loves everything Nekter, but if I bought from them every day, my bank account would be really sad. So, I copied their recipe to make it at home for a fraction of the price! I'm going to lay out all the ingredients, but the actual amount you use is up to you for your taste preference!

Cucumber

Spinach

Kale

Celery

Parsley

Lemon

Green Apple (try to use as little apple as possible so as not to add too much sugar to the drink!)

Ginger Root (Nekter doesn't use ginger in their recipe, so feel free to leave this one out. But, ginger has so many health benefits, it's an anti-inflammatory, and it adds a nice little zing to your juice, so consider leaving it in!)

Trying my hand at food photography... haha

I never would have thought I'd like this juice, because I'll be honest: I have a hard time liking vegetables. I hate Celery and Cucumbers on their own, and kale isn't my favorite salad component. However, I do LOVE this juice, although it's a mystery as to why!

When juicing, I recommend putting the leafy greens in with a more watery vegetable, such as celery or cucumber because I feel it juices easier. The leaves don't have much juice in them so these other veggies wash them out. (I have done no research to back this up so I may just be crazy, but that's just my experience!)

Once everything has been juiced, I like to put the juice in a mason jar because it can be sealed. Juice is supposed to be consumed within 24 hours because the nutrients start to break down and you won't get as many health benefits after that, but it also tastes better cold. So, pop it in the fridge if you can. At Nekter they put ice in it if you want to drink it cold, so that's an option as well.

I also dilute it by adding some water to the juice. So many veggies can irritate your stomach, especially if you're not used to this amount of consumption.

If anyone has a juicer and tries this recipe, let me know what you think!
